The U Cup: Pinoy Hoops 2022

When and where are the games played?

This year games will be held on Monday October 3rd 2022 (Labour day public holiday) at PCYC Marrickville with games from 8.30am to 7.30pm.

How does it work?

We are offering two men’s adult divisions (5v5) – Competitive and Social A with a maximum of ten teams per division in two pools per division..

Men’s Competitive – Teams looking for a competitive, structured basketball experience, suits teams were the majority of their players have representative basketball/high to moderate level school or local competition experience and play regularly in competition setting at a moderate to high level

Men’s Social – Teams looking for a social yet competitive experience, suits teams were the majority of their players have school basketball or local competition experience and play regularly in a competition or scrimmage setting at a low to moderate level

Adult team nominations are subject to approval by a committee to avoid teams playing in too low or high a grade and teams have a maximum of twelve players. All adult divisions consist of two twenty minute halves with the clock running. Teams will play three pool games with the top two teams in each pool moving to semi-finals (1st Pool A vs 2nd Pool B, etc.) and semi-finals winners playing off in the finals. The U League will provide two referees and a score-person for each game with statistics taken across all divisions.

Players in all categories and divisions must be of Filipino descent (at least one grandparent is Filipino) and be able to provide reasonable proof of this fact on request.

Players should compete for teams based on location within reason i.e. its fine for a player in the Western suburbs to select to play for one of the numerous teams from that area but they should avoid playing with a Central Coast based team for example.

What does it cost?

Team fees are $275.00 per team
